Little on the Line for Primary Election Day

Nominations for U.S. Senate, Congress and statewide offices on the line in voting booths today.

Today is Primary Election Day in Pennsylvania, but with Mitt Romney having all but sewn up the Republican nomination for president, there is not much on the line in local voting booths today.

There are primary races for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Democrat Bob Casey. Party nominations for other statewide offices are also up for grabs.

In the newly redrawn 15th Congressional District, most Democratic voters in Bethlehem city have a choice of Rick Daugherty and Jackson Eaton as challengers to incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent.

In Bethlehem Township – and a small part of the city, Democratic voters can choose between incumbent U.S. Rep. Tim Holden, D-17, and his challenger for the party nomination, Matt Cartwright.
