GOP: Corbett's 'Bold' Budget Proposal Will Reinvest in Pa.

The Pennsylvania GOP says Gov. Tom Corbett's budget is pro-jobs, pro-education and pro-growth

Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason released the following statement in support of Governor Corbett’s balanced and responsible budget that reinvests in Pennsylvania.

“Governor Corbett is ready to reinvest in Pennsylvania’s future with a bold budget proposal that is pro-jobs, pro-education, and pro-growth. By practicing fiscal restraint over the past two years, Governor Corbett has cleaned up the financial mess left by the previous administration and has gotten our Commonwealth on the path towards a healthy economic future,” Chairman Gleason said.

“Just as every family is required to do month after month, Governor Corbett has brought Pennsylvania’s budget spending in line with revenues and without raising taxes on the middle class. Over the next year, we will be able to again invest a record amount in the future of our children and to agriculture, public safety and the core functions of government that have been reformed to cut waste and fraud.  By taking steps to reform and reduce our tax burden, Pennsylvania is on track for yet another influx of jobs and economic activity.  Governor Corbett’s budget will see that Pennsylvania tackles pension and liquor reforms along with our transportation infrastructure that hasn’t been approached in more than 30 years.”

“Governor Corbett’s pro-jobs, pro-growth leadership  that has yielded over 100,000 private sector jobs since he first took office should serve as a lesson for President Obama and Democrats in Washington, DC. who thrive on more spending and more taxes.  Governor Corbett’s leadership has demonstrated that lower taxes, balanced budgets, smaller government, transparency and accountability aren’t just talking points, but sound, proven job creation methods that have restored economic prosperity to our Commonwealth.”
