Columbus Day: What's Open, What's Closed

Local and county government offices are open, but schools and federal and state government offices are closed.

 

In observance of Columbus Day, here is what's open and closed Monday, Oct. 8.

Bethlehem City Hall is open. Recycling collection continues as normal.

Bethlehem Township municipal offices are open. The Parks & Recreation Committee meets at 6pm.

Schools: There are no classes in Bethlehem Area School District public schools, though it is a teachers' in-service day. District offices are open and the Bethlehem Area School Board is scheduled to hold Finance and Human Resource committee meetings at 6pm in the education center.

Northampton County Courthouse is open.

Northampton County Government offices are open, but the courts and magisterial disctrict courts are closed.

Lehigh County Courthouse is open. 

Lehigh County Government offices are open

Pennsylvania Department of Transportationdriver's license and photo centers are closed. (Online services are available. www.dmv.state.pa.us)

Pennsylvania Liquor stores are open.

Federal offices are closed. 

State offices are closed

Post offices are closed, and there will be no regular mail pick up or delivery. 

Retail: Most retail and entertainment establishments are open today.

Banks: Many, but not all, are closed.
