West Side Man Struck By Car Dies

Walter Coles Jr. was hit by a vehicle along Hanover Avenue; death ruled an accident.



A West Bethlehem man died as a result of injuries suffered Monday afternoon when hit by a vehicle in East Allentown, according to the Lehigh County Coroner.

The death of Walter Coles Jr. 56, of 2105 Florence Ave., was ruled accidental by Allentown Police and Lehigh County Coroner Scott M. Grim, who wrote that the death was caused by multiple traumatic injuries.

Coles was hit by the vehicle at the intersection of Hanover Avenue and Carlisle Street at about 3:30 p.m., Grim reported. He was pronounced dead at in Fountain Hill less than two hours later.
