Weekend Police Blotter: Teen Robbed, Phone Taken

Also, a mom arrested for leaving baby alone and a boyfriend stabbed with a fork

A 16-year-old boy was knocked to the ground and robbed of his smart phone during an assault on the Fahy Bridge on Friday afternoon, Bethlehem Police said.

Two males, both thin, one 5-foot, 6-inches tall, the other 5-foot, 10-inches, attacked the teen as he was walking south on the bridge at about 4 p.m., police said. Taken was an HTC Toucn Pro 2 cell phone with a black face and brown back.

The shorter attacker was wearing a T-shirt under a blue checked collared shirt and blue jeans. The taller male was wearing a brown shirt and dark colored pants, police said.

The robbers fled south and ran down the stairs to Columbia Street. The victim, whom police did not identify, suffered minor injuries in the attack. The attackers were part of a group of four or five other males, police said.

Police: Infant Left Alone by Drunk Mother

Bethlehem police are charging a 25-year-old woman with endangering the welfare of children after she was allegedly found on the street drunk, while her infant son was left in an apartment alone, with the door open, late Saturday night.

Julie Klotz, 25, of 522 Main St., is facing the charge following the 11 p.m. incident on Main Street. Police took Klotz to St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill and turned the boy, who is less than a year old, over to relatives.

She Stabbed Him With A Fork

Tiffany Lopez, 23, of 638 Fiot Ave., Bethlehem was charged with simple assault and harassment after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the upper left arm with a fork early Sunday morning, Bethlehem police said. 

Police said the assault took place at 1:45 a.m. Sunday during an argument between Lopez and Joel Fonseca, 29, of 724 Broadway, at Lopez’s home.

Police said Lopez also took her anger out on Fonseca’s car, kicking it and causing damage to the passenger side door and the hood.

Police are looking for a man who was reportedly hitting a car with a shovel a little before 9 p.m. Friday night in the Banana Factory’s parking lot at 211 Plymouth St., in South Bethlehem. City police said the victim was Denise Kern of Whitehall, the owner of the white Mercury which took the brunt of the shovel attack.
