Two Charged with Threatening Burger King Workers

Cigarette theft and brawling in school also reported by Bethlehem police.

The Bethlehem Police Department reports the following incidents happened around the city on Wednesday, Dec. 21:

  • Two men were arrested at Burger King on Wednesday night around 11 p.m.
    Police say Brian Weber, 19, of the 500 block of North Clewel Street, and Charles Berkey, 19, of the 2600 block of Jacksonville Road threatened employees of the fast food restaurant, and then smashed a concrete trash receptacle with a baseball bat.
    Both were issued non-traffic citations for harassment and disorderly conduct. Additionally, Berkey was charged with criminal mischief with intent to cause damage.

 

  • A 15-year-old student was arrested around noon on Wednesday at Liberty High School, police report. Unidentified due to her age, the juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct and fighting, they said.

  • An unidentified 33-year-old male was arrested at about 3:45 a.m. after an incident at the Pantry 1 Food Mart on East Morton Street, police said.
    Police report: “After several failed attempts to purchase two cartons of cigarettes using the credit card of another, the 33-year-old male grabbed the cartons and fled out of the store. Once apprehended, actoinsisted he committed the theft at the demand, and only after being threatened by (two other men). Both (men) were interviewed, however, no evidence was found to substantiate the actor's claims.”
    The man will be charged with retail theft when the investigation is complete, police added.

 

  • Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Jesse Kern, 24, of the unit block of West Goepp Street, after Kern allegedly stole a duffle bag containing $1,000 worth of dance costumes from Dana Wunsch, 20, of the same address.
    A call from the responding officer around 1:30 p.m. to Kern resulted in Kern refusing to return the goods, police said. When apprehended, Kern will be charged with theft and receiving stolen property, they said.
    He was last seen wearing black skinny jeans and has large gauge earrings, the report added.
