Two Burglaries Reported in SouthSide

One apartment was ransacked while the victim slept.

A South Bethlehem apartment was burglarized and ransacked as the victim slept overnight Wednesday to Thursday morning, according to city police.

The apartment at 737 Morton St. was entered between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. Thursday as the victim, Jose Pacheco, slept. Among the items taken was a black wallet containing $1,800 and numerous credit cards, police said.

In another Southside burglary, also reported on Thursday, someone cut a window screen to gain entry to an apartment at 106 E. Fourth St. and stole a DVD player.
