Township Man Allegedly Attacked His Girlfriend

Township police say Nigel Bisbing, 26, assaulted his girlfriend after an argument Saturday morning.

A Bethlehem Township man was jailed Saturday after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend when she refused to have sex with him.

Township police say Nigel Bisbing, 26, of 3406 Easton Ave., got into an argument with his girlfriend early Saturday morning.

Police say Bisbing gave the woman an ultimatum: either she have sex with him or leave. When she chose to leave, he attacked her, throwing her onto his bed and covering her mouth and nose so she couldn't breathe.

According to police, the woman eventually got away and ran -- without shoes -- directly to the police station.

Bisbing was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, unlawful restraint, and harassment. He was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Gay Elwell in Easton, and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
