Township Man Accused of Wielding Hatchet

19-year-old charged with terroristic threats following Friday night fight in Bath.

A Bethlehem Township is accused of raising a hatchet at another man during a fight in Bath on Friday evening, according to court records.

Lukas M. Takacs, 19, of 4167 Wilson Ave., was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia as after the altercation on the 200 block of Old Forge Drive in Bath.

According to the arrest affidavit, Takacs exited his car wielding the hatchet, pushed another man and raised the hatchet over his head. A fight ensued and the hatchet was taken away from Takacs, according to the arrest warrant.

The fight was apparently β€œover a female having problems with some of the people on the street,” the warrant says.

A search following the arrest yielded a glass smoking device with burnt marijuana, the affidavit said.

Takacs was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail, following his arraignment before District Judge James J. Narlesky.
