Teen Called 'Gun Play' Arrested in High Street Shooting

Raeshawn Perez, 18, of Allentown is charged with 2 counts of attempted homicide.

An Allentown teenager who has a street name of β€œGun Play” was arrested Tuesday for firing shots into a house less than two blocks south of Liberty High School, Bethlehem police said.

Raeshawn Perez, 18, was charged with two counts each of attempted homicide and aggravated assault and one count each of firing a gun into an occupied structure and carrying a firearm without a license.

He was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail following a late afternoon arraignment in front of District Judge Roy Manwaring.

Police responded to the scene of the shooting on the 900 block of High Street at about 3 p.m. Monday. No one was injured, but the house was damaged, police said.

Police said they developed information during their investigation that led to an arrest warrant being issued for Perez, who turned himself in on Tuesday.Β
