Store to Host Fundraiser for Mounted Police

Chaar on Airport Road celebrates tenth anniversary with a fashion show and line dancing with proceeds going to Bethlehem horses and the Center for Animal Health and Welfare.

 

Chaar, a store that sells pet supplies, feed and Western wear, will celebrate its tenth anniversary tonight and Saturday with a variety of activities and events aimed at pet lovers.

Tonight's event at the store at 1635 Airport Road is a fund-raiser to benefit the ’s Mounted Patrol and the Center For Animal Health and Welfare in Northampton.

It will feature a fashion show highlighting Chaar’s line of top-quality Western wear and boots, a fashion show for dogs and line-dancing demonstrations from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 each.

“We have been working very closely with the Bethlehem Police Department’s horse patrol since it was re-activated several years ago and we are proud to contribute to this exceptional program,” said store owner Tony ElChaar. “Just as important to us is the Center for Animal Health and Welfare, which is a shelter that help find good homes for abandoned dogs and cats.”

Chaar has scheduled a full-day of events on Saturday, including line-dancing and dog agility demonstrations in the store; pony rides and a petting zoo outside and a variety of vendors who will be on-hand to offer pet-related wares and answer questions.

A pet adoption will be offered Saturday and 10 pairs of Western boots will be raffled off during the celebration. All of the Saturday events are free to the public.
