A SouthSide Bethlehem man hit a woman, causing an internal ear injury, during an argument at his home Friday, according to court records.

Noel M. Soto, 24, of 1777 Lynfield Court, is charged with aggravated assault and simple assault.

Police say Soto and the woman began arguing, and when she turned to walk away, he hit her on the right side of the face, causing her to fall to the ground.

She had a red marking on her face and began to experience ringing in her ear that was later diagnosed at a hospital as an internal ear injury, the records say. The hospital is not identified.

Soto was arraigned early Saturday by on-duty District Judge Todd Strohe of Bangor and committed to Northampton County Prison after failing to post $20,000 bail.
