SouthSide Man Accused of Helping Shooter Hide

A SouthSide man accused of driving the getaway car for and helping to hide two men accused in a shooting of a man and pregnant woman in the Marvine-Pembroke section of the city has been charged with two felony counts of hindering apprehension, according to court records.

Santiago Rivera, 19, of 1850 Sixth St., Bethlehem, allegedly drove Robinson “Moyo” Torres and Joesyan Miranda from the neighborhood after on March 20. The man and woman, who was six months pregnant, were injured.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Rivera admitted to that he picked up Torres at a park near the scene of the shooting and drove him from the area.

Rivera allegedly paid $50 to rent a room at the Knight’s Inn on Airport Road where Torres and Miranda were hiding out until police found them there on March 21.

Rivera was arraigned on the charges in front of District Judge James Narlesky on Thursday night and was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
