SouthSide Man Accused in Stabbing

Victim taken to St. Luke's with chest wound, which police say is not life threatening.

 

A South Bethlehem man is accused of stabbing another man in the chest with a pocketknife in front of his own Mechanic Street home early Saturday morning, according to court records.

Tyrone Martin Young, 37, of 1009 Mechanic St., is accused in the assault, which resulted in a hospital trip for Pablo Hidalgo, 55, who was “bleeding profusely” from the left side of his chest when police arrived.

Hidalgo was taken to in Fountain Hill where his injuries were not considered life threatening, according to The Express-Times.

The incident occurred a little after midnight in front of Young’s home, the result of an argument over money and a cell phone charger, the newspaper reported.

Young was charged with aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person. He was arraigned before and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.
