South Side Man Hit Brother With Baseball Bat: Police

Argument over money turned physical when Wyandotte Street man attacked brother with metal bat, police say.

By Tom Coombe

Bethlehem police say a city man assaulted his brother with a baseball bat during an argument over drug money Sunday afternoon.

Abdiel Pagan, 20, of the 400 block of Wyandotte Street, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment.

According to police, the incident began around 1 p.m. Sunday when Pagan was arguing with his mother over money. Pagan's brother, Raymond, told police he intervened, telling his brother he'd get no money for drugs.

Their argument became physical, and Abdiel Pagan attacked his brother with a metal bat, hitting him in the legs. Raymond Pagan managed to get the bat from his brother, who then jumped from a second-story window and ran.

Police issued a warrant for Pagan Sunday before District Judge Jackie Taschner in Palmer Township.
