Sinkhole on Pembroke Road Repaired, Traffic Moving

Traffic closed along Pembroke Road from Marvine Street to Stefko Boulevard.

A sinkhole briefly forced PennDOT to close westbound traffic along Pembroke Road from Marvine Street to Fritz Drive in Bethlehem on Wednesday afternoon.

But a repair crew quickly responded to the scene and a metal plate was installed before sundown to cover the hole to allow traffic to move again.

While the repairs were being done, westbound traffic was diverted through the Marvine-Pembroke neighborhood along Marvine Street and Fritz Drive before reconnecting to Pembroke Road.
