Sinkhole Causes Street Closure in Bethlehem

Water main break on E. Market Street is to blame for detour.

A sinkhole caused by a water main break has forced Bethlehem authorities to close E. Market Street to traffic between New and Center streets, according to The Express Times.

The 7-foot deep hole, measuring 20-by-40 feet, opened up Sunday morning, according to wfmz.com. City workers were still working on repairs as of Sunday evening, the television station reported.

It was unclear how long Market Street would be closed in the area.
