Shots Fired on Pembroke Road, 4-year-old Hurt

Police say at least 5 men were involved in the shootout near the Gulf Oil station.

A 4-year-old boy was injured and at least 20 shots were fired during some kind of incident near the Gulf Oil station along Pembroke Road on Monday night, Bethlehem police said.

At least five men were somehow involved in the shootout, which occurred at about 10 p.m., said police, who are seeking the public’s help in unraveling the details.

The boy, who lives nearby, was taken by city paramedics to St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill, though police said his injuries were not serious. He was hit on the left side of his head with metal fragments from one of the rounds, police said.

No other injuries had been reported as a result of the shots fired as of this morning, police said. Some homes on Gordon Court were hit by gunfire, police said.

Officers and detectives who responded to the scene found no less than 20 shell casings on the ground in the area, police said.
