Shooting Getaway Vehicle Found in Flames

Police looking for the men who shot Jischke Street resident who walked in on burglary.

 

Bethlehem police believe they have found the getaway vehicle connected to the who walked in on a burglary at his home Monday afternoon, according to media reports.

Kevin Cook, 39, of 550 Jischke St., was shot in the abdomen after finding three “Hispanic” males inside his home and asking them “Who are you?” according to a police report. It was a little after 2:30 p.m.

After Cook was shot, the men got into a blue SUV and drove off. A stolen BMW sport utility vehicle was found engulfed in flames in a remote area of Salisbury Township at about 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to this story in The Express-Times.

The blue vehicle with Connecticut license plates had been stolen in Montgomery County, police told the newspaper. It was found in a field near Dogwood Lane and Douglas Road.

Cook’s injuries are not life threatening and in fact he was expected to be released from St. Luke’s Hospital today, according to this story in The Morning Call.
