Bethlehem police found a disheveled room with blood soaked sheets, towels and rags when they responded to a report of a woman screaming in the early Monday morning.
They also found a woman who had apparently been beaten and a boyfriend who claimed she had beaten him because he lost $800 gambling, according to court records.
Nicholas Aaron Mullins, 27, of Lock Haven, was charged with simple assault and harassment.
Police responded to the scene shortly before 5 a.m. after casino security reported that a woman was screaming for help inside a hotel room. A patron in a neighboring room reported that he had heard a man threaten to kill someone, court papers say.
Inside Room 1016, police found Mullins, while his girlfriend was in the shower, half-dressed with the water running. She had a bleeding laceration behind her left ear and bruises above her left eye, on her head and her chest, the arrest affidavit says. When police asked her what had happened, she only shook her head and shrugged.
Mullins was arraigned before and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
