Bermudez was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Gay Elwell in Easton and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

According to police, Bermudez attacked his ex-girlfriend around 1 a.m. on July 25 as she walked along the 400 block of Atlantic Street.

Police say Bermudez knocked the woman to the ground, bit off part of her ear, and robbed her. Initially, she told the police it was another woman who assaulted her, but after repeated questioning, she admitted that it was Bermudez.

She told police she had lied because she was afraid of he ex-boyfriend. Bethlehem Police put out a public call on their blog to help find Bermudez the day the assault took place.

According to another police report, Bermudez had also allegedly fired a gun at the ex-girlfriend outside of her home four days before the attack on Atlantic Street.

And a month before that, according to court records, Bermudez sent the ex-girlfriend’s 14-year-old son to the hospital with a punch to the face that left him unconscious, bruised and with a bloody nose. Bermudez was formally charged in that assault on Monday.

The alleged assault on the ex-girlfriend’s 14-year-old son took place June 27 at the family home.

The boy told Bethlehem police that he had been arguing with his mother shortly before 11 p.m. when Bermudez stepped between them and punched him in the face. His mother confirmed that story to police.

The boy required treatment at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill.

Bermudez was formally charged with that assault on Monday in an arraignment before District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro, who added $10,000 to his bail before he was sent back to Northampton County Prison.
