Police: Roommate Threatened With Rifle

South Bethlehem man charged with terroristic threats and reckless endangerment.

A Bethlehem man arrested and charged with threatening a roommate with a rifle on Saturday night, according to court records.

Joshua E. Souders, 28, of 826 Wyandotte St., is free on $25,000 unsecured bail following his arraignment early Sunday on charges of terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.

One of Souders’ two roommates called Bethlehem to the scene to report the incident, which occurred at about 10:40 p.m., court papers say. The roommate told police that she had changed the locks on the apartment’s doors because she was having problems with Souders.

According to court records, the roommate returned home, after going out for a few hours Saturday night, to find that the lock to the back door had been broken and Souders was waiting for her in the kitchen.

Souders allegedly pointed a silver rifle at the woman, who reacted by screaming, the affidavit says. Souders then fled out the back door.
