Police: Mother Slashes Daughter with Steak Knife

15-year-old girl suffered wounds to face and arm; mother charged with aggravated assault.

A city woman was charged with felony aggravated assault after she allegedly cut her daughter at least twice with a steak knife during a fight at their Laury Street home Thursday night, police said.

Amber Nieves, 31, of 317 Laury St., was arrested after the altercation a little after 10 p.m. Her 15-year-old daughter, who was not identified by police, was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill, with slashing or stab wounds to her face and upper right arm, according to police.
