A Bethlehem man is accused of firing a gun inside of an apartment during a party in late October, according to court papers.
Hykeem Rasmeen Sessons, 31, of 1822 Watkins St., was charged Friday with recklessly endangering another person and discharging a firearm within city limits, a summary offense. The affidavit did not make clear why Sessons was not arrested until Friday.
The alleged incident occurred at 1825 Watkins St., Apartment D-6, in the hour after midnight on Oct. 25. Eyewitnesses told Bethlehem police that Sessons took a gun and fired it, the bullet nearly striking Daniel Giarraffn.
According to court papers:
- Giarraffn’s brother, Steven, told police that he confronted Sessons about firing the gun, which resulted in a fight during which Sessons punched him. Steven Giarraffn suffered a cut above his left eye and swelling to the left side of his head.
- Two other eyewitnesses told police that Sessons took the gun from a friend and accidentally fired it into the ground, nearly striking Daniel Giarraffn.
Sessons was charged with harassment for allegedly punching Giarraffn. He was arraigned before District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
