Police Look for Convenience Store Robbers

Mother and daughter allegedly robbed E. Fourth Street store in December.

 

Bethlehem police are seeking two women – a mother and daughter – who are accused of participating in an armed robbery of an E. Fourth St. convenience store in December.

Nina Morales, 38, and Tiana Nina Alvarado, 19, Mini Mart, 418 E. Fourth St., on December 13, netting $7,200 in cash and $450 in cigarettes.

Their alleged accomplice, David Capelles, 52, of the 300 block of State Street is already in custody, placed in Northampton County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

According to court records, Capelles told police that Morales held a BB gun on the store’s clerk, while Alvarado, her daughter, took cigarettes from behind the counter. Capelles was allegedly armed with a baseball bat.

Capelles said the clerk handed the money to Morales, which the three suspects used to buy marijuana and alcohol.
