Police: Fountain Hill Man Stole Building Materials

Suspect took more than $10,000 in materials from city contractor and sold it that day to a scrap metal yard in Hellertown, police say.

 

A Fountain Hill man is accused of stealing more than $10,000 in construction materials from a Bethlehem contractor last week, according to court papers.

Ashley W. Boris, 28, of 824 Tombler St., allegedly took metal concrete forms, copper, galvanized metal pipe downspouts and other materials valued at $10,200 from the parking lot of , 759 E. Goepp St., last Monday morning, according to who filed charges.

In an affidavit of probable cause, police say they have surveillance footage of a Boris entering the M V Builders parking lot and loading the materials onto a pickup truck.

The court record also indicates that Boris provided his driver’s license to H. Blinderman & Son, a Hellertown scrap metal yard, where he sold the items for $118.08 less than two hours after allegedly stealing them.

Boris was arraigned before night duty on third-degree felony charges of theft and receiving stolen property on Thursday. He was released on $15,000 unsecured bail.
