According to court records, Simmons, 23, who knew the girl, asked her to get into his car while she was walking along Canal Street on Easton's South Side.

They drove into Glendon, with Simmons asking the girl if she wanted to make some money. He pulled over onto Belmont St., where police say he forced the girl to have sex.

The girl went home after the rape, court records say, and police were called. She was able to identify Simmons because they had prior contact. A warrant was issued for his arrest in July.

Court records have Simmons living 454 Ostrum St. in Fountain Hill, but also list his last known address at Line Street in Easton.

He is charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

Simmons was arraigned Saturday before District Judge Daniel Corpora in Easton. He was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
