Police: City Man Struck Cop During Game

18-year-old charged with aggravated assault for hitting officer during Freedom-Liberty game.

An 18-year-old Bethlehem man is accused of assaulting a city police officer during Saturday's Liberty-Freedom football game at the BASD stadium, according to court records.

Angel Luis Rosado III of 1037 E. 3rd St., attempted to injure Officer Sean Conley by striking and pushing him in the chest while Conley was attempting to escort Rosado off the field, the records state.

Conley, working crowd control, observed another officer order two males off the playing field after they entered through a gate in the fence. Conley ordered the males off the field and placed his hands on their shoulders and escorted them off.

When Conley removed his hands, one of the males -- Rosado -- "struck Conley on his chest with an open hand and shoved him," the records state.

Rosado was arraigned by District Judge Jackie Taschner on charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and defiant trespass. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
