Man Shot Dead on W. Broad Street

Altercation outside gentleman's club at Bethlehem-Allentown border led to shooting death, police say.

 

A man was shot and killed early this morning on W. Broad Street, just inside the western boundary Bethlehem shares with Allentown, city police said.

Police believe the shooting was the result of an altercation outside of Scoobie’s Gentleman’s Club, 2327 Hanover Ave. in Allentown.

The identity of the victim was not released pending notification of family members, police said.

The shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. Police arrived and found the victim lying in the street in front of Scoobie’s, which sits at Club Avenue where Hanover Avenue, Allentown, becomes W. Broad Street, Bethlehem.

Bethlehem paramedics treated the victim and then transported him to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill, police said. He was pronounced dead at 3:40 a.m.
