Man Dreamt of Sex with Kids, Assaulted 3, Police Say

Dennis Wechsler told police he had 'sexual dreams' about his victims, 7, 8 and 15, according to arrest affidavit.

A South Bethlehem man who admitted to police that he sexually assaulted three children in the last three months has been locked up in Northampton County Prison on multiple charges, according to court records.

Dennis Francis Wechsler, 29, of 1434 Philip St., is accused of victimizing a 7-year-old, an 8-year-old and a 15-year-old in an affidavit of probable cause filed Monday by Bethlehem Police Det. Moses Miller.

The sexual assaults took place at an address on W. Fourth Street and another address in the borough of Coplay in Lehigh County, police said.

Wechsler signed a Miranda rights form before making his confession to the city detective, the affidavit says. Wechsler told Miller that he had “sexual dreams” about the victims and “would fascinate” about having sex with the victims, the affidavit says.

A parent of the 7-year-old victim called police on Sunday to reported that Wechsler had sexually assaulted the child at the child’s home in the city, according to an arrest warrant.

Wechsler admitted that the child had given him oral sex, police said. He also admitted that he had given oral sex to the two other victims and had “digitally penetrated” all three of the victims, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit does not specify the sex of the victims.

For the purposes of prosecution, the charges are being consolidated in Northampton County, the affidavit says.

Wechsler was charged with three counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a minor, three counts of aggravated indecent assault on a minor, three counts of indecent assault on a minor and three counts of indecent assault.

He was arraigned before District Judge Nancy Matos-Gonzalez, who set bail at $750,000.
