Bethlehem police say a city man robbed a teenager with a box cutter Tuesday, and was apparently disappointed with the amount of cash his victim was carrying.

"You only have $2? How am I supposed to pay for my daughter's diapers?" Nixon Montalvo-Velez asked the 17-year-old, according to court records.

Montalvo-Velez, 20, of 502 Ontario St., is charged with robbery, receiving stolen property, harassment, theft, terroristic threats, simple assault and reckless endangerment.

According to police, he approached the teen Tuesday afternoon outside the Town and Country Lanes on Stefko Boulevard and asked for a ride.

He had the boy pull over at Fritz Drive and Merriman Court, and threatened him with the box cutter, police said.

Police say the boy handed over his money, and Montalvo-Velez also found another dollar on the floor of the car.

He then demanded the teen's cell phone, police said. When the boy asked to keep it, Montalvo-Velez allegedly asked him, "Do you want to get stabbed?"

Police say Montalvo-Velez then got into another car and that they were able to trace its license plate its owner, Alexa Kuilan of Essex Court. Officers found Montalvo-Velez under a bed in her home.

He was arraigned before on-duty District Judge John Capobianco in Nazareth and sent to Northampton County Court in lieu of $25,000 bail.
