Man Faces Drug Charges After Meeting Informant

Upper Macungie man met police informant near Westgate Mall and allegedly sold oxycodone pills.

An Upper Macungie Township man sold a confidential police informant four pills of the painkiller Oxycodone for $110 on the Hanover Township portion of Schoenersville Road near , court records say.

Police also found $667 in cash, four more Oxycodone pills, a digital scale and marijuana seeds in the car driven by the suspect, Richard Oswald Woodham II, 21, of 8529 Gateway Road.

The car Woodham was driving -- a 2003 silver Toyota Celica coupe -- was registered to a female passenger, one of two passengers in the car when the alleged transaction took place, the records say.

Colonial Regional police conducted the operation, assisted by members of the Northampton County Drug Task Force.

According to the records, the confidential informant sent a text message to Woodham's cell phone around 8:20pm Tuesday. The informant "ordered" four Oxycodone pills for $110.

A Colonial Regional officer, accompanied by an officer from another police department, followed the informant to 2245 Schoenersville Road. At 9:09pm, Woodham made contact with the informant in the informant's car.

Shortly after Woodham drove away, he was pulled over by task force members. The female passenger consented to a search of the car.

Police found a black case behind the front passenger seat containing the cash, additional pills, scale and marijuana seeds.

Also in the case was $90 of the $110 alleged transaction. Police found the other $20 when they searched Woodham. They also found his cell phone in the car.

Woodham was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance -- both felonies. He also was charged with possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.

He was arraigned at 1am Wednesday by on-duty District Judge Douglas Schlegel of Wind Gap and committed to Northampton County Prison after failing to post $20,000 bail.
