Man Exposed Himself to Mom, 4-Year-Old Girl, Police Say

Accused told South Side McDonald's manager that he was wearing ripped pants because he was doing laundry, court records say.

Bethlehem police say a Wyandotte Street man exposed himself to a mom and her 4-year-old daughter last month at his neighborhood McDonald's.

Robert Roth, 67, is charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.

According to court records, Roth was at the McDonald's on Wyandotte Street May 23 when a woman brought her daughter in to eat.

The girl greeted Roth, and he said "Hello, beautiful."

At that point, police said, the mother noticed that Roth's pants appeared to be down, and that she could see his scrotum. She told the manager.

The manager confronted Roth, and saw that Roth had a large rip in his pants that exposed his crotch.

Police say Roth kept telling the manager that he was doing laundry, which was why he was wearing the ripped pants.

The manager told police that Roth, whom he knew simply as "Bob," was a regular customer. Police noted that Roth normally sat in a different part of the restaurant than where the woman and her child were sitting.

Police were able to identify Roth by talking to employees at the nearby Wells Fargo, who recognized him as a customer. The woman was able to pick him out of a lineup, police said.

Roth was arraigned before on-duty District Judge Richard Yetter in Wilson and was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
