Man, Dog Shot in Home Invasion, Police Say

2 armed masked men still at large after scuffling with Bethlehem Township homeowner, police say.

A pair of masked intruders forced their way into a Bethlehem Township house on Saturday night and shot the homeowner in the leg, according to published reports.

The incident occurred in the 3500 block of Church Road at about 10:15 when two masked men knocked on the door. The victim, identified in published reports as Theodore Romanishan, 46, tried to fight the intruders off, but was shot, according to police.

Romanishan’s dog, a German shepherd mix named Domino, was also hit with a gunshot during the scuffle, according to wfmz.com. The dog is in stable condition, the television station reported.

The motive for the home invasion was unclear to police and nothing was taken, according to The Express Times. Romanishan was taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill for injuries that were not life-threatening, the newspaper reported.

The home invaders fled before police arrived, according to The Morning Call.
