UPDATE: Liberty High School Lockdown Lifted

After a thorough search of the school, no guns or gunmen were found.

A lockdown at Liberty High School that lasted much of the afternoon has been lifted.

Superintendent Joseph Roy confirmed to WFMZ that there was a police investigation occurring at the school. He told NBC that the lockdown was lifted around 4 p.m.

A 911 call reported three armed people entering the school, WFMZ said. The school went into lockdown, following what police told WFMZ was "proper protocol."

After a thorough search of the school, NBC said, no such guns or gunmen were found.

Students were secure at all times, Roy told WFMZ, as police cleared classrooms one by one.
