Lehigh Student Mugged on E. 4th St., Teen Charged: Police

19-year-old from South Bethlehem pointed gun at student and demanded cash and cell phone, police say.

A 19-year-old South Bethlehem man pointed a gun at a Lehigh University student and demanded money and the cell phone he was carrying on Tuesday evening, Bethlehem police said.

Less than four hours after the alleged mugging, Stephen Rosa of 922 E. Morton St. was arrested and charged with two counts of felony robbery, prohibited possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.

The robbery happened on E. Fourth Street a little before 6 p.m., police said. Rosa was arraigned in front of on-duty District Judge Diane Marakovits of Northampton and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail.
