UGI Crews Respond to Gas Line Problem on Richmond Street

Bethlehem police say UGI crews are on scene to fix a gas line and that there's no leak hazard

Bethlehem police now say UGI crews are on the scene in the 1800 block of Richmond Street and that there's no gas leak danger.

The street is closed to accommodate equipment. The gas line affected is small and there was no need for evacuations as indicated earlier, according to the police Twitter feed.

Police say this is a small gas line.

The restricted area is between W. Union Boulevard and W. Broad Street.

In January, a gas leak in the 2100 block of Princeton Avenue overnight prompted officials to evacuate 23 people in 11 homes. There were no injuries.
