Fired Police Officer Accepts Plea Deal

Lenner, fired for blocking internal investigation, gets fine, supervision and community service.

A Bethlehem police officer who was fired for tampering with an internal investigation into police brutality today pleaded no contest to a charge of criminal mischief, according to this report in The Morning Call.

, 29, was fined $400, sentenced to a year of supervision and 20 hours of community service in Northampton County Court today.

Lenner was accused of to obtain a surveillance video shot by a camera mounted outside of Roosevelt’s 21st bar during the arrest of Cory Vazquez in March 2010.

Detectives wanted the video to determine whether was guilty of brutality when he arrested Vazquez following a chase through city streets.

Lenner is appealing his February firing by City Council.
