Fire That Killed Cats Caused by Unattended Cooking

Published report says fire damaged three homes on E. Union Boulevard

The fire that damaged three homes and killed two cats on E. Union Boulevard was caused by unattended cooking, a city fire official said, according to a report on The Morning Call website.

One firefighter required treatment for exhaustion and dehydration, but has been released from the hospital. Firefighters were able to rescue two dogs from one of the homes.

Three families were displaced by the blaze, but there were no other injuries.
