Car Hit by Train After Driver Ignores Stop Sign in Bethlehem

Crash happened at about 10 a.m. off Route 512 on Bella Vista Drive.

A northbound Norfolk-Southern train hit a car after the driver ignored a stop sign at a railroad crossing on Bella Vista Drive just off Route 512 (Center Street) near Johnston Drive around 10 a.m. Monday, police said.

say the driver appeared to have only minor injuries and was taken to a hospital to get checked out. Police did not release the driver's name.

Police said they will talk to the driver before deciding if any charges will be filed as a result of the crash.

The train continued on its route after a tow truck removed the car from the railroad tracks.
