Driver Who Hit Pedestrians Sentenced to Prison

Willie L. Brickhouse will serve up to four years in prison.

A Bethlehem man who struck and injured two pedestrians last June was sentenced to prison on Friday.

Willie L. Brickhouse, 61, must serve between one and four years in state prison, The Morning Call reported.

Brickhouse earlier had pleaded guilty to a felony charge of causing an accident for running a red light on June 6 at Broadway and Fourth Street and striking two pedestrians in a crosswalk, The Morning Call said.

Luis Pagan and Alexus Williams were badly injured when Brickhouse struck them with his SUV, the Morning Call said.

Brickhouse fled the scene, but later called 911 to say he thought he had hit a dog, the Morning Call said. He admitted to drinking before the accident.
