Driver in Critical Condition After Shimersville Rd. Collision

Bethlehem police are asking for the public's help in determining the cause of morning 2-vehicle crash.

A woman was in critical condition at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill after she was ejected from her SUV in a two-vehicle collision along Shimersville Road near Applebutter Road Wednesday morning, Bethlehem police said.

Police are not releasing the names of the two drivers, however they are asking for the public’s help in determining the cause of the accident.

Police were called to the accident scene at 7:48 a.m. According to the information they have so far, police said both the SUV and a smaller car were traveling north on Shimersville Road when they “came into contact,” for reasons that are still unclear.

The contact caused the SUV to go out of control and roll over, causing the driver to be ejected, police said. The driver of the smaller vehicle was not injured, police said.
