Kegan Joseph Handlovic, 23, also accused of assaulting a woman in Bethlehem.

City police have accused a Marvine-Pembroke resident of assaulting a woman and putting his child in danger by breaking a glass tank, causing shards of glass to fly around their residence.

Police encountered Kegan Joseph Handlovic, 23, on their way to the call around 11:55 Saturdaynight. He matched the description of the man suspected in the assault – someone wearing tan shorts with a tattoo on his ribs.

Handlovic identified himself and admitted having synthetic marijuana on him, according to a criminal complaint filed by city Officer William P. Audelo.

Police did find a package in his pocket that later field-tested positive for marijuana, the complaint says.

At Handlovic’s apartment at 1221 Randolf Road, the woman told police Handlovic is the child’s father. The child’s gender was not listed. The complaint also does not list the relationships between Handlovic and the woman and the woman and the child.

The woman, meanwhile, said Handlovic threw an item at the large glass tank, causing glass to scatter throughout the residence. She said pieces of glass caused cuts to her hand and foot.

She said the child was in the “immediate area” when Handlovic broke the tank. Although in danger from the glass, the child apparently wasn’t hurt.

The woman also said Handlovic punched her – the woman – in the face, knocking her to the ground, then continued to strike her until a neighbor arrived after hearing commotion.

Handlovic was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use and harassment.

He was arraigned at 2:20am Sunday by on-duty District Judge Jackie Taschner of Palmer Township and committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $7,500 bail.
