College Believes Peeping Tom Was Caught

Suspect is a former student who has been banned from campus; police are still investigating.

A official said Tuesday that the college believes it has identified the suspect who was stalking women inside of ladies’ room stalls on the main campus.

“The individual is a former student and has been banned from campus while the police finalize the investigation,” according to an e-mail sent to the campus community by Mardi McGuire-Closson, the vice president for student affairs and the dean of students.

The college issued a last week to alert women that a man had, on at least two occasions, entered ladies’ rooms and looked under the doors of bathroom stalls in the Communications Hall on December 2 and the Residence Hall on December 7.

In her e-mail, McGuire-Closson wrote that the college also received some suggestions on how to better communicate about these kinds of situations in the future.

“We are, as we always do, evaluating our own procedures and appreciate the feedback from many of you,” McGuire-Closson wrote.

The dean also advised students to continue to report any unusual behavior or activity on campus.
