A Bethlehem man admitted in court Monday to raping a dog in Allentown in October.

Juan Sanabria-Hernandez, 27, was sentenced to 18 months probation for sexual intercourse with an animal by Lehigh County Judge Maria L. Dantos, according to The Express-Times. Under the terms of the plea agreement, a charge of cruelty to animals was withdrawn.

The owner of the female Shih Tzu named Star reported the dog rape to policeΒ in October after she noticed that the dog was injured and acting unusually. Sanabria-Hernandez had visited at the dog's home.
