City Man Charged with Threatening Landlord

Planned eviction notice prompted threats, according to police

A Bethlehem man accused of threatening to shoot his former landlord last month was arrested and charged today with terroristic threats and harassment.

Salvador Camacho, 31, of 541 Jischke St., allegedly threatened Mohammed Ibrahim, the owner of 611 Broadway, a building where Camacho used to live, according to court papers.

The threat allegedly happened on Feb. 18, after Camacho learned of Ibrahim's plans to file an eviction notice, according to the arrest warrant. Camacho supposedly owned Ibrahim $3,600.

Ibrahim told police he took the threat seriously because Camacho is known to carry a gun, court papers said. Following his arraignment this morning before District Judge Nancy Matos-Gonzalez, Camacho was freed on $7,500 bail.

Accused of Choking and Threatening Ex-Wife

Hector Tarraza-Franco, 33, of 1779 Chester Road, Bethlehem, was charged with domestic simple assault and harassment after he allegedly grabbed his ex-wife by the throat and threatened her, according to court papers.

Tarraza-Franco is accused of visiting the home of his ex-wife's mother at 3381 East Boulevard at about 2 a.m., grabbing Maria Tarraza by the throat before telling her he "hates her" and that "she would regret it," according to the arrest warrant.

Tarraza-Franco was arraigned before District Judge Patricia Romig-Passaro and released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
