City Man Charged with Threatening Ex-Girlfriend

Police say Jonathan Rios say he threw a bottle at new boyfriend's car.

A Bethlehem man was charged with terroristic threats and other crimes after he allegedly threatened his ex-girlfriend with a knife and then threw a bottle at the car she was a passenger in, according to court papers.

According to the arrest warrant, Jonathan A. Rios, 26, of 1229 E. Third St., was a passenger in a car that pulled alongside a car driven by Andrew Hanna, which was stopped for a red light at the intersection of Pembroke Road and Stefko Boulevard.

Jeritza Martinez, 22, was a passenger.

Rios got out of the car he was in and approached Hanna’s, yelling at Martinez to get out of the car. He then brandished a pocketknife.

Hanna drove away, but Rios followed and threw a bottle, striking Hanna’s car.

Rios was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, propelling missiles on a roadway and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned before and released on $15,000 bail.
