City Man Charged With Rape

Suspect allegedly assaulted woman Saturday morning at his home, police say.

A Bethlehem man was charged with rape Saturday after allegedly assaulting a woman in his home.

City police say John Hunsberger III, 39, of 643 Marshall St., Unit 1, forced a woman to perform oral sex on him early Saturday morning in his home.

According to police, the woman flagged down an officer to report what happened. She said she'd gone with Hunsberger to his home around 2 a.m. Saturday, where he grabbed her by the hair and sexually assaulted her.

Police say Hunsberger also stole $35 from the woman as she was tried to get out of his home.

He is charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, indecent assault, robbery, theft, receiving stolen property and harassment.

Hunsberger was arraigned before District Judge Gay Elwell in Easton, and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.

she flagged down an officer??? lol... yeah ok... she approached my 18 year old crying and begging for help and a ride home.... we called the police, the woman was inside my house staying safe and warm when they arrived---hope she is ok now, I felt so bad for her. And I hope she learned her lesson not to leave a bar with anybody!
