Three adults and a child suffered minor injuries when the car they were in struck a house along Johnston Drive Sunday afternoon, Bethlehem Police said.
The incident occurred about 3 p.m. when the female driver, who police did not identify, lost control of her car, which went off the road and through three yards before striking the enclosed front porch of 510 Johnston Drive, police said. The home residents were not injured, police said.
After the crash, the driver was able to get out of the car and remove a small child who was in the back seat with his mother, police said. They suffered cuts and scrapes and were taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital for further evaluation, police said.
An adult male passenger in the car needed assistance from the Bethlehem Fire Department and Bethlehem paramedics because he suffered a leg injury, police said. He too was taken to St. Luke’s for treatment.
A Bethlehem housing inspector was also called to the scene and he determined that the house remains structurally sound and that the residents can remain, police said. The homeowner called a contractor to board up the side of the house for the evening, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.
