Calypso Pupil Accosted by 5 Adults

Bethlehem Area School District issues security alert following Wednesday incident.

A pupil was confronted by five adult males as he walked to school on Wednesday morning, according to a “special safety announcement” issued by the .

The incident occurred near Higby Park – at Jackson and Spring streets – and was reported to the Bethlehem Police Department.

“The five males are described as approximately 20 to 30 years old,” the alert says. “Two are Caucasian and three are of darker complexion. One had a blue/red cap, one was taller with blonde/brown short hair, one wore a red shirt and black sneakers, one wore red jogging pants, and another had short, dark brown hair and was wearing a blue shirt.”

School officials advised parents to remind their children to be “vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious activity to your school principal and to the police.”
